where we got it: door hardware

Here it is! Our annual blog post! We are not good at carving out tome to write, but figured this could be a useful (& clickable!) place to drop some links for the many many many “how” and “where from” questions we get. I’ll do my best to update over time and categorize/group things well, but here is an initial go and hopefully at least one person finds this helpful :)

First up: door hardware

In total, we’ve converted two hinged doors to pocket doors, installed one exterior fiberglass door and are planning to replace all the interior doors in the next year or so, and we have installed / ordered new hardware for everything. We decided to go with matte black because we love how it matches the stems for the original globe lights and pops against the mahogany.

Below you can see how the closet door in the office needed extra hardware in order to not hit the wall where the transom window is, and the decision to convert this particular door into a pocket door has become a major space saver and style upgrade. We went with a soft close/open kit and Emtek handle from Amazon and purchased the mahogany door through Dolan’s Lumber here in Concord.

Our fiberglass door was also a custom order from Dolan’s and because it is located in our hallway bathroom, we decided to use this Schlage door handle and a matching single sided deadbolt lock

We think our front door is original and did a simple upgrade by painting it Behr’s Ecological and adding a Baldwin knob and keyed deadbolt.

For those interested in the lights, the can lights are by Progress Lighting and this is the porch light is from Build, but I believe west elm started carrying it for a lot more.

And finally, our interior doors that are in the works for a future project will feature these Schlage knobs for rooms, these passage knobs for closets and these hinges for all new hinged doors.

If you have questions, feedback or some door/hardware-related knowledge to drop, feel free to add it in the comments!
