Back in black

we're back (i think)…Long time, no read? It’s been a loooooooong time since we posted/thought about posting/remembered that we even bought this domain and I guess we felt that way a year and a half ago when we last posted too, ha! We’ve gotten a bunch of requests on instagram to ‘start a blog’ and since I only have a full-time job, a project house, a toddler, 2 grown dogs + 1 puppy, and an insane victorian dollhouse (that I’m supposed to restore one of these days) I figured we could take a stab at it again!

So so much has changed in the year and a half since we last posted. At that point I was V pregnant, we had no walls (or heat), we started painting our house black and the list goes on. Our baby arrived 3 weeks early and was born into a construction site, learning to embrace the soothing sounds of a nail gun and endless sanding from the beginning. Since then, we’ve put walls back up with insulation, put half the master bath back together, trees have been removed and others planted, we hacked up some IKEA Pax systems to put custom closets in 2 rooms, installed 2 pocket doors and painted 3/4 of the exterior (the last mile is always the longest). We even got started on some yard projects, which always felt so far away.

If you follow us on instagram, you have probably seen a lot of the projects and progress in our stories, but if not (hi, welcome), we are hoping to go back and take a slightly deeper dive on some of the more popular things we get asked about (yes our floors are concrete, we used redwood for our fence & no we don’t regret painting the house black 🙃) and maybe do a room-by-room breakdown with before/afters? I’m trying to reverse engineer a blog and idk if that format going to work. We are planning to include a few DIYs, and of course cover future projects in a somewhat linear fashion, but please do us a solid and leave a comment here / on our IG post and let us know what you’d like to see.
